A Bit of Backstory...

I am a mom to two kids, Noah my wonderful, college student who inherited our genetic tree full of dyslexia and Ava, my spunky, sensory processing kiddo currently in middle school.  I luckily get to share all of the joys, fears, laughter, tears, and plain 'ol hardwork of parenthood with my favorite person since forever, hubby Jeff.

My undergraduate degree is in Rehabilitation Services from Florida State University (Go Noles!) followed by a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman's University.

My OT career began in Florida in 1993 working with adults with neurological, cardiac, and orthopedic conditions on a large medical campus, and then into pediatric OT, working with children from birth to 16 years of age.

A self-professed anatomy and research geek,  I also taught evening classes in Kinesiology at Palm Beach Community College during this time.

Desperately seeking effective tools to balance the stressors of a full-time therapy career, teaching evening college classes and becoming a new mom, I delved into yoga and meditation. Like any good wife, I effectively nagged my husband onto the journey.

Our experiences of increased well-being from yoga, meditation and a focus on whole-food nutrition combined with our entrepreneurial spirits, led to a move to Maine (from Florida via San Francisco for yoga training), and opening Yoga On York (2002-2015).  Our yoga studio was the perfect venue to deliver holistic occupational therapy, blending my clinical therapy knowledge with the holistic modalities of yoga, mindfulness, and meditation, providing classes for all ages including: Prenatal Yoga, Mom & Baby Yoga, Children’s Yoga, Yoga Club for kids with special needs, private yoga therapy for kids and adults, anatomically-based yoga teacher training and so much more!

In the summer of 2015, we passed the torch of Yoga On York ownership.

Full Circle...The Now

2017 Kids Thrive was born...a fusion of 25 plus years of professional and personal development, a melding of all that I have learned thru years of study and delivery of both traditional occupational therapy and holistic OT, yoga, and mindfulness services for all ages in both medical and community settings.

Kids Thrive was born...informed by my life experiences as mom to a son with significant dyslexia whom we home schooled for 4 years and daughter with sensory processing challenges.

Kids Thrive was born out of love and a passion for sharing and being of service.
